It was just about blown out at this point but some fun waves anyway. Video is not great quality but some documentation nonetheless. I was trying out new camera and this was shot about 3000 feet away. 6-7pm

Hurricane Katia Swell September 8, 2011
Swell was well overhead on Thursday evening near 6-7pm but didn't film because it was too dark. I saw some 10 footers and a few 12 foot faces with no mush on Thursday evening. I hope you had fun if you could go surf.
Friday morning was up at sunrise to catch offshores and some nice hurricane swell. It seemed a little soft to me, didn't have the power that Thursday night had, but hurricane was just offshore then. By Friday morning hurricane Katia had passed but still got respectable swell. Here's a short vid - 120minutes edited down to 5minutes.
